Mother and Daughter, Barbara
Satterfield and Monica
Payton have appeared together at
a number of events signing their books.
Barbara is a wife and mother of three
daughters. Monica is the second.
Barbara, holds a lifetime teaching
credential with LAUSD, and retired after
25 years as an elementary school educator.
Over the years Barbara has enchanted
her pupils by reading many of her stories
in the classrooms. December 2003 she
unveiled a favorite, Tomias
The Cat. The book has gained in
popularity and is present on many Los
Angeles Unified elementary schools campuses.
Monica Payton, a licensed physician
assistant, has joined her mother at
several book signings, including Borders
in West Hollywood. Monica Payton penned
her first medical thriller, Black
Deception, December 2003
while her mom’s presented a
children's story book, title, Tomias
The Cat.
Both authors share a style that shares
moralistic messages in their writing.
In Monica Payton’s fictional
medical thriller, she sends a message
that encourages health care providers
to always hold fast to their duties
and obligations. After all, no profession
is above the law.
Now that their
second books are on the market, the
mother and daughter are enjoying coast-to-coast
book tours, and radio interviews.
