Mother and Daughter, Barbara
Satterfield and Monica
Payton have appeared together at
a number of events signing their books.
Barbara is a wife and mother of three
daughters. Monica is the second.
Barbara, holds a lifetime teaching
credential with LAUSD, and retired after
25 years as an elementary school educator.
Over the years Barbara has enchanted
her pupils by reading many of her stories
in the classrooms. December 2003 she
unveiled a favorite, Tomias The Cat.
The book has gained in popularity and
is present on many Los Angeles Unified
elementary schools campuses.
Monica
Payton, a licensed physician assistant,
has joined her mother at several book
signings, including Boarders in West
Hollywood. Monica Payton has penned
her medical thriller, title, Black
Deception, which unveiled December
2003 with her mom’s book, Tomias
The Cat. In Monica Payton’s
fictional medical thriller, she sends
a message that encourages health care
providers to always hold fast to their
moral duties and obligations. After
all, no profession is above the law.
The mother
and daughter are enjoying coast-to-coast
book tours, and radio interviews.
The two started the Vision Harmony
Book Club whose goals are to promote
literacy and support African American
Authors of adult and children books.
The two are working planning
to uncover their second novel at the
first of the year. Unveiling
celebrations are yet pending.
